In fact, that's more reliable in making sure its the person's photo. IMO

That's not true! Just because more people enter doesn't mean you're not gonna win. It just means you need to step up your game.

But actually when you work hard on an idea, then a hundred other entries come in that are like it (Or even worse, one-up it, building on your idea) it makes your entry look like crap.

Yeah, mine's actually turning out like an already submitted one. I really didn't mean to steal the idea -I didn't even see it until after I started- but it's weird, they're almost the same layout. I'm going to try to make mine look a lot better though, : P

This is why I always turn in my entry last.

If there are many "copies" of a particular shot...as there seem to be on this contest...I tend to give weight to the FIRST one. All latecomers are given much less consideration, unless they're such a huge improvement on the original that it would be unfair to penalize their late entry.
