I hope that some of the oldies can remember my ooold comic, published about 1,5 year ago. Although it was not as good as I wanted it to be, because of its poor graphics and mine terrible grammar, it was kind of new experience that determined the way I followed in creating art in MSPain. Unhappily, lack of time and skills stopped the project, I just could not draw what I wanted the proper way. Now, as a experienced artist, I can continue this comic saga, redone the old parts, and rewrite (but not dramatically change!) the storyline and dialogues. But I do know, that that will take ALOT of time-do not expect to publish it in less than 2 months.

Path of the Penitent's graphics was based on vectorized in MSPaint (sometimes self-drawn) characters from screens, with drawn background. Now, PotP becomes monochromatic with some occasional, strong colours (as in Sin City-it was my main inspiration).

It will be published on HBN, mine DeviantArt and digart.pl sites.

I gotta say, that first panel is off da hook! I really like the black and white, and the style is just sweet! Really good detail on the elite, too. Good luck with your comic, can't wait to see more of it.

Your skills have much improved since those days.

Looking good man. I'm very impressed. My only recomendations would be to try to use "stippled" backgrounds, here and there, to show atmosphere. That would really add a pleasing visual quality to your art.

Oh, and this is slightly irrelevent, but you have this labeled as monochromatic... monochromatic actually means "one hue" or "one color". Achromatic means "an absense of color", such as black and white, like what you have here.

Just thought you might like to know

This is a very powerful comic style. Hard shadows make the images stand out, and the art reproduces well. I'd tell you to stick with it- no grays, no gradients, just hard blacks and whites. Anyone who thinks this doesn't work well can try explaining themselves to Frank Miller.

I don't want to be picky, but this could be considered monochrome. Monochrome is the use of a single hue. Black and white could be considered the extreme hues of any one color.

Anyways, INTEL, this stuff is insane! I can't wait to see the finished product. I'm not sure if you're going to leave it that way, seeing as this is just a WIP, but the background in the first image is kind of bland, and it tells nothing of what is going on in the back. While this could be appropriate for certain situations, you should probably stick to hinting at objects in the background using whites to highlight the objects' corners and edges.

This is definitely amazing. Not only is the art style great, but the drawings are perfect as well. The detail on the elite is astounding. I can't really think of much to criticise, other than backgrounds, but I'm sure they'll soon be fixed.

True, true. Black is usually considered a totality of all values, not specifically refering to any particular hue. Though ANY color with a totally-dark value is black, regardless of what color. So black could be considered a hue. Now white is the true oddball. It's both a presence of all spectral colors, and the simple absence of color, totally. Bit more obscure on that one, heh.
