Theme Updates have been merged with our main forum updates thread.

Hey everyone! In case you hadn't noticed, this forum has gotten it's first new style since the upgrade. I wanted to make this style to honor a chapter theme Gruntsbane made that was never used due to the Bungie.net upgrade. Pretty spiffy, eh? I hope you guys enjoy it. Feedback is welcome, but keep in mind it TAKES TIME to get used to new things. So don't go bashing it right off the bat if you don't like it. And hey, the avies are on the left now, so that's good, right?

But here's the cool part!
You can choose which forum style you want from your user control panel! For now, there are 3 forum styes:
- HaloBabies
- prosilver (default forum style)
- subsilver2 (previous phpBB forum style)

Here's what you do to choose which style you want:
1. Access the User Control Panel
2. Click the Board Preferences section
3. Choose "global settings"
4. Choose your style from the drop down menu

There will be a Larry the Marine style on the way, a classic HBN style, and possibly more to come! User styles mb?

Update 1 - 2/2/08
- I'm working on trying to change the link text from blue to something else, but it's proving more difficult than I expected. It's not the end of the world if I can't, just thought I would let you guys know.

Update 2 - 2/3/08
- Haven't got the link color changed yet since I haven't had time, but I still plan on it.
- Changed the darker row color to be lighter, since some were complaining it was tougher on the eyes. The contrast is much less now. I'm migrating the icons over to the new color now.

Update 3 - 2/4/08
- "HBN Classic" is now online! I replaced the "Subsilver 2" theme with this one, since basically it's just that style with a couple tweaks and a different logo. I didn't make it exactly like the original theme, since I can't (phpBB 3 styles are different than 2), but I think it works out alright, and will well suit those who want a 'simple' style.
- I will work on getting read/unread forum indicators to be a bit more different since right now it can be tough between the bright/dark green.

Looks fine to me! Though I'll probably try out all the styles and see which one suits me best, once it's all done.

Mustn't have taken long to do... I mean... I was on this arvo and then went off and did some other stuff... came back and was smacked in the face with a spiffy new look!

Not that I'm complaining it looks awesome! ... but I'll have to get used to the avatars being on the left hand side again XD

You have no idea... although a lot of it is me being a perfectionist when it comes to stuff like this. Every image you see here was edited at a pixel-level (as I call it) at some point haha. Yeah I'm getting used to the avies too, but I like them on the left!

The links up at the top of the page are non-readable on the Halobabies style (haven't checked out the others yet), as they conflict with the blue background. In fact, most of the blue link text conflicts with the background... and even less readable as green up the top when you mouse over the links.

I'd say that's about the only problem I see, however for me that is a pretty irritating problem.

EdIT: never mind I found it. Just really hard to see is all.

this is extremely hard for me to read, maybe you should make a high contrast alt style?

for now, I need to turn off the spiffy theme and use the crappy default board theme so I don't strain my eyes :/

what part is hard for you to read? if its the blue links, I'm working on that. I dont see any issues with actual threads, since its black on light blue.

It's the colors behind the text boxes and the lightish blue (I think) behind the posts.

maybe I'll just mess around with some of my graphics card's plugins to change the colors to make it easier to read. hooray colorblindness

I like it. It's not too hard on the eyes (LIKE MY WRITING LOLOL) and the avatars are back on the left, which I'm just more accustomed to. ^_^ Well done, Smiley!

oooh i forgot about your color perception. well don't worry, because when i release the classic theme, it will be much easier. so for now if you have to put up with default, it will only be for a short while.
